Beacon House exists as a Christian agency offering a wide range of holistic services within an atmosphere of acceptance and care for those in need.
We offer health care facilities to those who find themselves homeless or in insecure accommodation in Colchester and the north east part of Essex. Our services include;
- A nurse led clinic
- Male and female showers
- Washrooms
- Laundry
- Clothing store and toiletries
The above services are available Monday to Friday 12 noon to 4 p.m.
We also provide day beds for homeless people who are ill but not sick enough to be admitted into hospital. These beds are open from 12 noon to 4 p.m.
Our nurses also run an open air clinic at the homeless soup run in central Colchester.

We do not offer accommodation. All the above services are offered free of charge.
We also run a series of life skill training courses covering the subjects below;
- Home maintenance
- Budgeting
- Cookery
- Maintaining a tenancy
- Numeracy / writing
- Computer skills
All our courses are accredited by AQA and are not just open to homeless clients but other people struggling to keep life on track.

We also offer counselling, and courses for anger management, confidence building and relaxation.
