URGENT - Lifeskills require a large gas cooker (and a fitter to fit it).

Welcome to the web site of

Beacon House Primary Health Care Centre.

Beacon House exists as a Christian agency to offer a wide range of holistic services within an atmosphere of acceptance and care to those in need.

We offer health care facilities to those who find themselves homeless in and around the Colchester area. We also cater for those in insecure accommodation or those at risk of losing their home. We do not offer accommodation.

We now have 2036 clients registered at the centre. Our client ratio is 80% male with 20% female and the main age group we see is still between 26 to 40 years.

During the last year (2007) our client visits reached 6270 and we offered nearly 3000 showers or shaves. Our basement services continue to be as busy as ever with 2630 laundry requests, 1374 clothing requests and 834 requests for toiletries. The clinic visits continue to rise and our nurse had 1242 consultations during the year.

We also run a series of life skills training courses covering a range of subjects including cookery, budgeting, computing and arts and crafts. See our 'Lifeskills' page.
